Highland Village operates under covenants and guidelines designed to protect Highland Village property values and to ensure that our common areas are maintained. If you are planning changes to your property, see the Architectural Rules page.
Complaints
These are some the most common complaints that we receive.
- Dead or diseases trees or shrubs that are not brought back into good health or removed.
- Landscape beds that are overgrown and/or filled with weeds.
- Lawns that aren’t maintained:
- Grass is not mowed regularly
- Weeds are not treated & removed from the lawn
- Leaves are not picked up from the lawn
- Patches of dead lawn
- Garbage, recycling, yard clipping cans stored in yards.
These items must be stored in the garage. If you cannot store the cans in the garage, you must build a solid enclosure that follows HVHA Architectural Guidelines and has been pre-approved.
- Mailboxes that are not in good condition.
- Mailboxes that do not display the HVHA-provided numbers or display more than one set of numbers.
- Mailbox posts that need to be painted, repaired, replaced or re-set so that they stand straight.
- Driveways that are not maintained, repaired, or replaced.
- Debris left in the backyard, which includes piles of leaves or branches.
- Trailers, boats, RVs parked in driveways.
Notify the Association
The Association sends Compliance Notices to homeowners who are in violation of our covenants/guidelines. These notices are sent by U.S. Mail. If you see a violation that requires attention, please notify us.
